Bearing manufactures produce bearing to allow relative motion that is linear or rotational between two parts. Bearings are very important part in motion and mechanical technologies and act as anti friction. Bearings basically reduce friction by using either balls or rollers that is by its shape and material. Have you ever wondered that things roll better than sliding? If parts slide over one another, friction is created and that tends to slow down the speed. But, if the parts roll over one another, friction is greatly reduced. This is the simple concept behind bearings manufacture. Besides bearings, there are other components as well such as clutches, torque limiters, rotary dampers and rollers that are used in equipments and machines to ensure maximum efficiency with reduced friction. Bearing manufactures differentiate bearings according to the motion, principle of operation and the direction of load application.
There exist various types of bearings ranging from plastic bearings miniature bearings to steel bearings, each used for different application and purpose. The most common type of bearings is the ball bearings that are used in inline skates as well as hard drives. These bearings are useful in the case when the load is relatively small and can handle both thrust and radial loads. It is plastic bearings that is gaining in popularity and is the best choice especially in the foods industry. This is because plastic bearings are good in both conditions such as wet and corrosive. These plastic bearings are again non magnetic and extremely resistant to corrosion. Plastic bearings find its uses in vending machines, refrigerators and in office furniture as well. There are steel bearings too that are basically high-load precision bearings and primary field of application of these bearings are in tool chests, kitchen equipments, conveyors and in high load cabinets as well. There exist other types of precision bearing products as well such as the spherical bearings.
There exist miniature bearings that are corrosion resistant, light weight and cost effective. Primary applications of these bearings are found mainly in office equipment such as photocopiers, ticket dispensing machines and printers. Of all the bearings, ball bearings are the most cost effective as the cost of producing the balls used in these bearings is least expensive. The main purpose of the bearing manufacture is to reduce friction and support different type of loads such as radial and axle. With modern technology and latest innovations there are bearings that have longer life cycle and that makes it harder to destroy. These bearings are used in massage machines, steel doors, casters for furniture and rollers for guide of elevators.
